Our Mission
Journey Home is dedicated to supporting unsheltered individuals and those at risk of becoming unsheltered by providing safe residence, building robust support networks, and securing safe, adequate, and permanent housing solutions.
Our Vision
We envision Journey Home as a network of collaborative community partners. This collaboration connects unsheltered individuals and those at risk of becoming unsheltered with the opportunity to access a full spectrum of critical resources and support. This includes access to legal documents (such as IDs and birth certificates), mental health services, substance abuse prevention, job training, and financial literacy, all leading to sustained safe, adequate, and permanent housing and employment.
Journey Home is a comprehensive and supportive program for individuals experiencing need. Journey Home is designed to provide a safe place as they are connected to supportive services. Access to resources such as employment, mental health services and supplemental assistance will reduce many of the barriers which prevent individuals from obtaining and maintaining permanent housing.
Journey Home provides vital services, including an Emergency Shelter, transitional housing, "The Shop" (community free store), and permanent housing support through the Johnson County Resource Center (JCRC). We are an independent, community-driven initiative, not tied to a single organization. While we pursue grants, the long-term success and sustainability of our programs rely absolutely on community commitment through donations and volunteer support.
