Johnson County Resource Center

The Johnson County Resource Center provides our unsheltered community members with case management, breakfast and lunch, and a place to hang out. The JCRC and our volunteers have contributed services, time, and case management to thousands of clients!

The JCRC is located in the First Presbyterian Church basement in Warrensburg, MO. Churches and community organizations volunteer to help Journey Home provide lunches, healthcare vouchers, volunteer work, and more. Every Tuesday and Thursday the JCRC opens for breakfast, a hot lunch, and to let people "hang out" in a safe, welcoming environment with access to A/C and Wi-Fi. Street people are welcome, as are any of our Warrensburg community members. The JCRC has hosted other services in the past, such as access to a free healthcare and dental clinic, a warming shelter during the harsh winters, and seasonal community events.

Volunteers from a local high school help clean up after lunch.

Helping the JCRC

The Johnson County Resource Center needs volunteers to help provide free meals to unsheltered persons in our community.

We need volunteers to cook and serve meals, help clean up after lunch, and/or help transport our clients. At the First Presbyterian Church in Warrensburg, where we serve the meals, we have a kitchen as well as some cooking and cleaning supplies. From 1PM-2PM, we transport our clients from the JCRC to the Library or the Community Center.
